George Cannings was born in Birmingham on August 21, 1939.Once mom Had passed away Dad was never the same,He was diagnosed as being termally ill himself just after mom passed away,However although we was told dad didnt have long he fought on for 14 months to he took his last breath,It was sad to see how dad was fading as he was always such a joker and full of life, he lived for his family, I Nursed my dad my self for 14 months,Dad will always be in our thoughts. He is much loved and will always be remembered by all his family.especially Children Michelle, Stephen and Julie. in-laws John and Sharon. and grandchildren Mark, Kyle, Kelly, Craig, and Ryan.
Little did we know that morning
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you,
you are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.
If we could have a lifetime wish
and one dream that could come true
We would pray to God with all our
hearts just to see and speak to you

George was born to Lennard and the late myra Cannings in 1939. he was soon joined by his sister Eileen.
soon George was all grown up and went on to meet and fall in love with Marlene Abbotts as she was then known. they was married in 1966, they went on to have 3 children, Stephen, Michelle, and julie. he is also a grandad to One grandaughter and four grandsons.
My dad was always a joker,
The thing that realy sticks in my mind was when we was little,We lived by my dads Sister Eileen, She went away on holiday, My dad was left to look after her house,
The day she was returning home he opened her house up as a cafe,Put up menu boards in the garden on the front, My Aunt had the shock of her life when she got back home with her family..
